Role
Kaplan International College Adelaide is seeking three experienced and student‐focused Academic Leads to provide academic leadership across defined discipline areas. These roles are responsible for supporting high‐quality subject delivery, teaching practice, assessment standards and student learning outcomes. Working closely with the Director, Learning & Teaching, academic staff and student support teams, the Academic Leads will help ensure a consistent, engaging and supportive learning experience for students.
The successful candidates will bring strong academic leadership experience, a commitment to quality teaching and learning, and the ability to support academic staff and students across their respective discipline areas.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the delivery of approved subjects within the discipline, ensuring consistency across classes, intakes and delivery modes.
* Oversee subject implementation, including learning materials, assessment tasks, LMS quality and teaching resources.
* Provide academic leadership to teaching staff, supporting high‐quality teaching practice and a positive student learning experience.
* Mentor, coach and support academic staff through induction, feedback, observation and ongoing professional development.
* Undertake teaching within the discipline as required, modelling effective and engaging teaching practice.
* Coordinate assessment and moderation processes to ensure fairness, consistency, academic integrity and compliance with relevant policies.
* Monitor student performance and progression, identifying at‐risk students and supporting timely intervention strategies in collaboration with relevant teams.
* Contribute to quality assurance, academic governance, subject reviews and continuous improvement activities using student outcomes, feedback and progression data.
Requirements
* Significant teaching experience in a relevant discipline within a pathways, higher education or comparable tertiary education environment.
* Demonstrated experience in subject coordination, academic leadership or supporting teaching teams.
* Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting academic staff to improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
* Strong understanding of effective teaching, learning, assessment and moderation practices in a tertiary or pathways context.
* Demonstrated ability to monitor student performance and implement strategies that support student success.
* Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic and student support teams.
* High attention to detail and the ability to ensure consistency, quality and compliance in subject delivery and assessment processes.
* Familiarity with quality assurance, academic governance processes, student success initiatives or partner university expectations will be highly regarded.
