(Level A) $98,574 - $105,611 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.Two fixed-term, full-time positions available for 2 years.An exciting opportunity for two ARC Grant-Funded Researchers working on electrocatalysis and energy conversion devices.This position is for a materials scientist to work on the design and development of materials for electrocatalysis applications.
Responsibilities include synthesizing nanomaterials with well-defined structures, conducting characterizations, designing testing compartments, and evaluating energy conversion performance.The positions are funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Carbon Science & Innovation.
Successful applicants will work in the Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis alongside a diverse team of scientists and engineers specializing in energy-related materials science and engineering.
The research will be interdisciplinary, combining fundamental science with advanced materials synthesis and analytical techniques.
These roles offer an excellent opportunity to collaborate with international research partners.To be successful, you will need:A recent PhD or nearing completion of a PhD.Expertise in synthesizing functional materials for energy conversion reactions such as water splitting, urea oxidation, and plastic degradation.Strong background in energy conversion devices, e.g., PEM electrolyzers.Knowledge of modern materials characterization techniques, including microscopy and in-situ spectroscopy.Ability to work effectively within a research team comprising students, postdocs, and senior staff under supervision.The path to Adelaide UniversityWe are preparing to open our new campus in January 2026, combining the strengths of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.
