Western Australian Specialty Alloys (WASA) is an international market leader in the production of superalloys for forging and ring rolling applications for a range of aerospace, power generation and oil & gas applications. We are a fully owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC) a US manufacturing company based in Portland, Oregon.
Airbus, Boeing, GE, Rolls-Royce and many other leading manufacturers depend on PCC for critical airframe, engine, power generation and general industrial components. With few exceptions, every aircraft in the sky flies with parts manufactured by PCC.
About the Role
We are seeking a Handyman to join our team. This role requires someone who is prepared to work within our core values of Courage, Ownership, Collaboration, Integrity, and Innovate.
This handyman/6s specialist is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, as well as implementing and maintaining 6s (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) principles to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
* Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
* Implement and maintain 6S principles in the workplace.
* Assist with the setup and organization of workspaces.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
* Clean common areas with scrubber, sweeper, leaf blower and other equipment.
* Paint factory safety lines and new equipment
* Support contractors to set up work area safely
* Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
* Collaborate with other team members to improve overall facility operations.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures including EHS Rules and New Quality Rules
* Participate in company initiatives applicable to the role
* Other duties as reasonably required within your skills and capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of 6S principles and their application in the workplace.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction
• Willing to attend training for further development
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
• Forklift, EWP, and crane qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Ability to interact with staff at all levels
