Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust’s two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.In Chile, PanAust holds a 66 per cent interest in the Inca de Oro Copper-Gold Project through a Chilean incorporated joint venture company, Inca de Oro S. A.The RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team, Brisbane-based with frequent travel to Papua New Guinea. Reporting to Project Director- Frieda River, the role will drive the financial and strategic direction of Frieda River Limited including securing and structuring project financing, engaging with capital markets and negotiating commercial agreements with government entities and other strategic investors.Key Responsibilities Include:Provide financial leadership and strategic direction to support the company’s growth and investment objectivesDevelop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s business plan and capital market activitiesEnsure financial compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, particularly within joint venture and/or listed environmentsIdentify, structure, and implement diverse funding instruments for large-scale mining and/or infrastructure projectsOversee the company’s capital-raising activities, including debt, equity, and hybrid financing solutionsLead financial structuring and negotiations for the CompanyNegotiate and structure commercial agreements with State Governments and State-Owned EnterprisesLead market engagement processes to identify and secure strategic equity partnersManage financial due diligence, investment analysis, and risk assessments for joint ventures and other strategic partnershipsDrive processes to secure optimised project finance arrangements, ensuring alignment with business objectivesOversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, and investment structuring for major infrastructure and mining projectsCollaborate with external stakeholders, including investment banks, institutional investors, and legal advisors, to structure large-scale project financingsEnsure robust financial governance, risk management, and internal controls across operations, plus international financial reporting and compliance obligationsProvide financial insights and reporting to the Board of Directors and executive leadership teamLead and develop the finance team to ensure excellence in financial management and strategic executionRepresent the company in investor relations activities, market engagements, and regulatory discussionsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, financial institutions, and industry partnersTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CA/CFA preferredMaster’s in Finance or Economics is highly desirableProven experience as a CFO or a similar senior financial leadership roleProven track record of leading strategic investment initiatives with exposure to and strong knowledge of IPO's and M&A is highly desirableStrong understanding of financial regulations and complianceExceptional financial modelling and analytical skills or ability to interpretExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilitiesStrategic thinker with a track record of driving financial successStrong leadership and team management skillsYou must have full Australian working rights to apply for this role.Why Join Us?Our Values: Our core values of Care, Leadership, Integrity and Performance and represent the foundations of our great cultureRemuneration: We offer a competitive salary, bonus and benefits packageMeaningful Work: The work we do is valuable and connects all of our employees through a shared vision and our valuesSustainability: We actively focus on our environmental footprint and build upon community development initiatives in communities where we operatePanAust is focussed on building a workforce that embraces diversity and inclusion, aiming to create an environment that brings us all together through connection, security and community and harnessing what makes us unique.
