What is the opportunity?
This role will see you working full‑time hours as an X‑Ray Assistant, in a Reliever capacity.
You may be rostered at all and any of our clinics from Alkimos to Rockingham, to Booragoon and Midland to cover period of leave, add extra capacity where required or jump in a short notice to support our technical staff and doctors to fulfil their lists.
In this position you will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting key stakeholders with clinical and administrative duties, and completing tasks which help to ensure clinics run efficiently and effectively.
You will be provided with a minimum of 3-months full hands‑on training to set you up for success. This role also attracts a travel allowance and a reliever allowance on top of your base remuneration.
Reporting to the Technical Supervisor you will:
* Prepare patients for imaging procedures including getting them changed, verifying their identity, confirming their consent where required and cross‑checking referrals and bookings
* Discharge patients as per protocol, complete billing accurately, and update documentation as needed
* Assist Radiographers and Radiologists with positioning, sterile procedures, and contrast administration (including cannulation after certification)
* Interpret referrals, locate prior reports, and ensure accurate data entry into various systems
* Prepare and label pathology slides/specimens and make relevant phone enquiries for blood pathology
* Set up sterile trolleys, draw up contrast, and operate imaging equipment including DEXA (after training)
* Maintain cleanliness of patient areas, manage stock levels, and ensure waste disposal protocols are followed

* Tertiary educated (degree or diploma) in a Scientific Discipline or Nursing
