We are looking for a skilled and qualified Chef or Cook to work within our Newcastle based establishment, The Happy Wombat. This fulltime role will be reporting to our Head Chef.
Job Description: Preparing, cooking, and presenting food in a timely and appealing manner.
Creating menus and recipes that suit the customers' preferences and requirements.
Managing the kitchen staff, equipment, and food provisions.
Ensuring the quality, safety, and hygiene of the food and the kitchen.
Studying and following the latest culinary trends and techniques.
Stock control and ordering produce.
Follow instruction from superior.
Skills Needed: A minimum of 3 year's previous experience in a similar role within a commercial kitchen environment.
Passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a team
Driven to develop culinary skills
A relevant Cert III / IV, Diploma or higher or at least three 3 years of relevant experience for the roles of Chef and / or cook.
The position will be paid via an annualised salary of between $65,000 and $80,000 base per annum. Commencement date of March 2026.
