The Role

The Receptionist will create a positive first impression for parents, students, staff, and visitors with a welcoming environment, clear communication, and personalized interactions.

This role requires a professional demeanor, strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities

* Greet and assist visitors, parents and students in a warm and professional manner.
* Answer and manage phone calls, emails and other correspondence directing them to the appropriate departments.
* Manage meeting room bookings for staff and visitors.
* Ensure smooth operation of the Reception area maintaining a clean, organized and secure environment.
* Assist with student attendance and other administrative tasks as directed by the Office Manager.
* Handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with CGS policies.
* Provide flexibility to cover afternoon Reception if required ensuring consistent coverage.
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.


Requirements

* Previous reception or administration experience ideally in a school or similar environment.
* Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to connect and interact with people from various diverse backgrounds and cultures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management software training will be provided if necessary.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A friendly and approachable demeanor with a positive attitude.
* Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working with Children Check.
