Purpose of the Position Profile
A core value of the Salvation Army is to support the basic needs of individuals and communities. The Youth Team Member (Program/Focus) provides support and assistance to Leaders for group activities and programs to meet the needs of the attendees and provides assistance as required to the Program Leader related to Group activities. Safety and well‐being of self and others is vital and there is a requirement to identify and report hazards and incidents.
Responsibilities
* Assist in facilitation of program activities under the direction of the Program Leader.
* Respond to individual needs effectively.
* Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve best outcomes.
* Visit local community spaces in the allocated mapped area (Street Teams).
* Facilitate transportation for people/goods under direction of Ministry leader/Corps Officer as required.
* Maintain confidentiality of participant information and interactions during group time.
* Engage and manage group dynamics and individuals' needs to enhance enjoyment of the program.
* Ensure a supportive and caring environment for attendees.
* Provide basic First Aid support within recognised skillset (Street Teams).
* Assist the Site Manager/Supervisor with other tasks as directed.
* Provide quality customer service by exhibiting a professional image, providing accurate information, and referring people to appropriate Salvation Army services.
* Listen carefully, acknowledge concerns, and refer issues or queries to Manager.
* Maintain petty cash tin, process credit card transactions, pay invoices and reconcile accounts.
* Handle client personal details in accordance with privacy guidelines.
* Report health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses to the Senior Team Leader and control hazards until rectified.
* Complete hazard, incident and accident forms in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Position
* Experience in a relevant field is highly regarded.
* First Aid certificate is highly regarded (Street Teams).
Mandatory Requirements of the Position
* Police check and Working with Children Check required.
* Complete TSA Mission Volunteer induction, training and registration.
