Job Description
The specialist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
They will work under the supervision of a senior medical officer (general physician or geriatrician) who will review patients, determine a management plan, and follow them through their HITH admission.
Effective communication with referring medical officers and the HITH team is essential.
This position may be based in various locations as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.
Supporting and participating in teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students and other hospital staff is expected.
The specialist must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff, and provide high-standard clinical care in the public sector.
Contributing to quality improvement activities and relevant research aligned with the Department's needs is also expected.
