ConsultANZ is looking for a Commercial Manager to join a top-tier civil engineering contractor in Auckland. Known for delivering complex infrastructure across New Zealand, our client is gearing up for a landmark project and seeks a strategic commercial leader to oversee financial performance, contract management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive commercial strategy to support business growth and project profitability
* Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across infrastructure projects
* Set and monitor financial goals, forecasts, and sales targets
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and key partners
* Lead contract negotiations and secure favourable commercial terms
* Analyze market conditions and project data to inform business decisions
* Manage commercial budgets, reporting, and financial planning
* Align commercial objectives with company-wide strategic goals
* Ensure compliance with all contractual, legal, and regulatory standards
* Oversee project cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Lead and support a high-performing commercial team across multiple projects
What You'll Need
* 10+ years' experience in civil construction, with strong commercial leadership
* Background in Quantity Surveying and cost management
* Deep knowledge of contract administration and commercial best practices
* Proven ability in managing claims, variations, and subcontractor performance
* Skilled in project financial reporting and progress tracking
* Experience with JDE (JD Edwards) systems is highly regarded
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a strategic mindset
