This role sits within the Partnerships, Projects & Insights Division in the SNSW Construction team. About the team The Service NSW Construction team delivers end-to-end refurbishments of Service NSW Service Centres and Contact Centres, as well as new Service Centre construction, relocations, and associated fit-outs. We work closely with Service Delivery to ensure every site is ready for operational use, and we partner with specialist contractors to safely deliver high-quality construction outcomes across NSW. About the role As the Project Manager (Construction), you will project manage Service Centre refurbishments end to end, supporting Service NSW frontline operations through the successful refurbishment, relocation and delivery of Service Centres. This role is hands-on and outcomes-focused, combining project management discipline with practical construction delivery, procurement coordination, and strong quality assurance to ensure sites are returned to Service Delivery ready for use. This role includes leading business requirements gathering with Service Delivery partners, then coordinating design sessions with the business and consultants to translate operational needs into clear, buildable design outcomes. Your day-to-day Project Execution & Coordination – Manage construction projects end to end, coordinating scope, schedule, budget, contractors, and key milestones from initiation through to handover. Business Requirements & Design Coordination – Undertake requirements gathering with Service Delivery partners and coordinate design sessions with the end users and external services consultants to confirm layouts, functional needs, and design intent. Stakeholder Engagement – Maintain strong working relationships with Service Delivery partners and contractors, ensuring clear communication, timely decisions, and smooth delivery. Risk & Compliance Oversight – Identify, manage and report risks in a construction context, ensuring compliance with relevant governance, safety, and site obligations. Quality Assurance & Handover – Lead quality assurance activities to confirm builders have delivered to the approved scope of work and design before handover back to Service Delivery. This includes inspections, defect management, and ensuring readiness for operational occupancy. Procurement & Governance Coordination – Coordinate procurement and governance activities related to building services, including supporting approvals, documentation, and supplier engagement to enable delivery. About you: Proven experience delivering projects in the construction industry with a strong focus on internal refurbishment and fit outs. Tertiary qualifications in construction project management Demonstrated strong understanding of commercial refurbishment and fit out Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage end-to-end delivery in live operational environments. Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with a practical, solutions-focused approach. Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, in both government and public sector. Strong ownership mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for customers and operational teams. Flexible to travel across NSW to inspect building sites as required. Highly desirable (but not essential) Experience delivering construction refurbishments in commercial premises. Experience working alongside architects and/or exposure to architecture or industrial design processes. Strong procurement experience in a NSW Government context. Knowledge of Government contract GC21 and MW21 Knowledge of Australian building standards in particular AS1428.
