Residential Aged Care Visitor - Volunteer and Brighten Someones Day - Prospect Vale
The Role: The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated, to build friendships and reduce feelings of loneliness. In your volunteer role you will be paired with an aging senior to provide them regular social support visits in their home. Activities during your visit are based on yours and your clients interests and could include playing cards, general conversation, listening to music or sharing stories. Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community
Our Client: We have a gentleman in his late 70s who has recently moved into a residential aged care facility in Prospect Vale and is looking for a friendly volunteer visitor. He is a former accountant with a creative side and a love for the outdoors. His past hobbies included bushwalking, rock n roll dancing, camping, pastel drawing, and sports such as squash and tenpin bowling. These days, he enjoys quieter activities and being taken for a walk in his wheelchair outside when the weather is warm. He would love to spend time with someone who can offer friendly conversation and listen as he shares what's on his mind, including stories of his past travels and life experiences.
We would love to hear from you if you enjoy connecting with people and making a positive difference.
