About the Role
Curtin University is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join its in‐house Maintenance & Operations team. This campus‐based, permanent role offers predictable hours, job security and the opportunity to work on well‐maintained, diverse plant in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake statutory, preventative, breakdown and emergency maintenance of refrigeration and mechanical systems.
* Diagnose faults, repair, test and commission equipment and systems.
* Provide timely, professional customer service and clear communication regarding works, timeframes and safety impacts.
* Supervise and coordinate external contractors and ensure compliance with university and legislative requirements.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the computerised maintenance management system.
* Provide guidance and training to apprentices.
* Work collaboratively with other trades to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Participate in an after‐hours call‐out roster as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent post‐trade qualification) with relevant experience.
* Restricted Electrical Licence and Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) accreditation.
* Strong fault‐finding and diagnostic capability.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
Desirable
* Experience in a large, complex organisation such as a university, hospital or commercial facilities environment.
* Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Role Requirements
* Permanent work rights in Australia.
* Ability to participate in an after‐hours call‐out roster.
* Physical capability appropriate to the role.

Salary and Benefits
Salary package of $83,283 – $91,103 (G05) per annum plus 17% superannuation and an Industry Trade Allowance of $5,000 per annum.
