Agricultural Technician BSN Trading Roma, Western QLD Full-time $77,000 – $87,000 per year super BSN Trading is a family owned, progressive and innovative cattle and farming operation based in the Roma district. Located approximately 24km from Roma, this is an opportunity to join a modern and expanding agricultural enterprise focused on livestock production and feedlot operations. The Role As part of the Livestock and Feed team, the Agricultural Technician will support livestock production, feedlot operations and feed mill activities through a combination of technical, operational and data-driven responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Monitor livestock condition, behaviour and welfare, and report on animal health outcomes Collect, record and maintain accurate production data relating to livestock movements, treatments and feed performance Assist with livestock induction, pen allocation and low stress stock handling practices Administer animal treatments and medications in consultation with veterinarians and management Support the preparation, monitoring and adjustment of feed rations to meet production targets Monitor feedlot systems including feed delivery, water systems and pen conditions Assist in feed mill operations including grain handling, tempering and milling processes Collect and analyse feed and ration samples, including moisture and quality testing, and maintain associated records Operate, maintain and troubleshoot agricultural machinery and equipment including loaders, tractors and feed systems Undertake routine maintenance and repairs on infrastructure, plant and equipment Monitor storage, handling and distribution of feed, grain and rations Support continuous improvement of livestock production systems and operational efficiency Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, animal welfare and biosecurity requirements Assist with general station operations including fencing and water infrastructure maintenance Qualifications and Experience Relevant qualification (AQF Diploma or higher), or at least three years of relevant experience in livestock, feedlot or agricultural operations Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and animal welfare practices Experience working with agricultural machinery and feed systems Skills and Attributes Strong attention to detail and record keeping ability Ability to work independently and within a team environment Good time management and organisational skills Practical problem-solving ability in an agricultural setting Positive attitude and willingness to learn Benefits Salary package between $77,000 and $87,000 plus superannuation Accommodation options available Ongoing training and career development Opportunity to be part of a progressive agricultural business How to Apply Submit your CV via the Apply Now link, outlining your experience in agricultural operations and machinery.
