ABOUT THE ROLE
* Drive smarter systems, data, and service delivery across Council
* Full Time Fixed Term - 6 months
* Band 7 - $103,544 per annum + 12% superannuation
* Located in Leongatha - Flexible/Hybrid working options
* Rostered day off available

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to play a lead role in supporting, maintaining, and improving Council's core business systems and data platforms. This pivotal position ensures the reliability, performance, and integration of key applications and databases that support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, deliver system enhancements, contribute to IT projects, and help strengthen digital services through data-driven insights and automation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Systems Support & Maintenance
Maintain and support core business systems including ERP, CRM, SharePoint, EDRMS, Intranet, and HRIS. Provide second-level support, undertake system configuration, and work with stakeholders to implement enhancements that improve business efficiency.
* Data & Integration Services
Administer SQL Server databases, develop queries, reports, and dashboards (Power BI, SSRS), and support data transformation and integration using tools such as SSIS and FME. Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL, DAX, JavaScript, VB) are highly valued.
* Project Delivery & Collaboration
Contribute to the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and subject matter experts to ensure outcomes meet quality, cost, and time expectations.
* Business Continuity & Resilience
Support the development and implementation of robust systems and processes that strengthen business continuity, data availability, and the reliability of Council's digital services.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills. You'll thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy solving problems, and be driven by delivering high-quality outcomes that support Council staff and the wider community.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful you will have qualifications in Business Information Systems, Data Analytics, or similar as well as some relevant experience in an IT related project management and systems administration field. You will have experience in coordinating the analysis of customer system needs, systems administration of complex databases and application development, plus excellent customer service and communication skills.
