About the role
As the Control Systems Engineer (Networks), you will be the go-to expert in operational technology, guiding the governance of our systems and providing advanced technical support to operational, maintenance, and project teams. You will play a key role in shaping strategies and driving innovation by transforming operational data into intelligent insights that power the future of smart water and wastewater networks.
About you
* Qualifications and Technical Expertise : Possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Certificate IV in Electrotechnology, supported by extensive experience in operational technology systems, communication techniques, and protocols.
* SCADA Systems Proficiency : Demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on experience with the Geo SCADA platform, including template development, server administration, SQL query building, and performance troubleshooting.
* Telemetry and Control Systems Experience : Proven capability in all aspects of telemetry communication systems and protocols (including radio, microwave systems, and DNP3), as well as electrical, instrumentation, and control systems (including RTUs, PLCs, and VSDs), preferably within the utility industry.
* Knowledge of Standards and Compliance : Sound understanding of applicable Australian Standards, the ITIL Framework, legislation, and relevant regulatory obligations.
* Systems and Procedure Development : Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and managing standards and procedures across multiple platforms, Industrial Control Systems, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments.
* Innovation and Future‑Focused Mindset : Demonstrated passion for Industry 4.0, cyber‑physical systems, and real‑time data technology, with a commitment to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
