The role
We're looking for a Presales Engineer to service our ACT, NSW and QLD clients who enjoys shaping solutions, influencing strategy, and working at the intersection of technology and people. In this role, you'll help customers understand what's possible, design solutions that make sense for their environment, and support successful outcomes from proposal through to delivery.
You'll be a key contributor to ASI's consultative sales approach, helping us deliver solutions that are right-sized, secure, and future-ready.
What success looks like:
* Acting as a technical leader within the sales process, guiding solution design and technical direction
* Developing clear, well-structured proposals, solution documentation, and presentations
* Supporting opportunity conversion and contributing to strong commercial outcomes
* Collaborating with Sales, Services, Engineering, and vendors to ensure aligned and deliverable solutions
* Presenting confidently to customers alongside Account Executives, adjusting your message for technical and non-technical audiences
* Identifying opportunities to improve, innovate, or expand ASI's solution offerings
* Supporting team capability through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and collaboration
* Working in line with ASI's quality, security, and compliance standards (ISO 9001 & ISO 27001)
About you
You're proactive, adaptable, and enjoy taking ownership. You ask good questions, challenge assumptions respectfully, and care about delivering solutions that genuinely meet customer needs. You value teamwork, communicate openly, and are motivated by seeing ideas turn into real-world outcomes.
Essential experience & capabilities
* Demonstrated experience in presales, solution architecture, or technical consulting roles
* Broad technical knowledge across modern workplace, cloud, infrastructure, networking, and security technologies
* Experience working with cyber security frameworks and best practices
* Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check
* Willingness to travel frequently between Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra offices and clients
* Understanding of IT service management principles
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust
* Effective time management and prioritisation skills
* Curiosity and willingness to keep learning as technology evolves
Desirable
* Industry or vendor certifications
* Experience across ICT governance, operations, or large-scale environments
