The primary focus of this role is to support the implementation and embedding of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading and numeracy practices. The role will enable school leadership and teaching teams to implement evidence-based, consistent, and aligned strategies for teaching literacy and numeracy, aiming to improve learning outcomes for all students. It will also support the implementation of the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework, focusing on quality Tier 1 instruction and processes for Tiers 2 and 3.
This department is dedicated to children and young people, aiming to ensure every child in Tasmania is known, safe, well, and learning. Our approach is child-centred in all we do.
Duties
Support the implementation of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading and numeracy, enabling staff to adopt evidence-based strategies and support the MTSS framework, including Tier 1, 2, and 3 instruction.
Period of Appointment
ASAP - 31 December 2027
Note: The selection process may be used to fill subsequent vacancies for 12 months from the publication date.
Hours per fortnight
70 hours per fortnight
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
* A registered teacher with full registration under the Teachers Registration Act 2000
* At least four years of training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005
