Permanent, Full‑time | Commencing Term 1, 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)
Position Overview Brisbane Montessori School is seeking an engaging, dedicated, and Montessori-trained Primary Class Director to join our supportive and collaborative Primary team.
This role is a permanent, full‑time teaching position (32.5 hours per week) commencing Term 1, 2026. We are open to a successful candidate starting sooner, to begin a handover period. The Class Director works alongside a Class Assistant and fellow Primary educators to guide children through the Montessori curriculum.
The Class Director role sits within the Teacher Award Band 2 Step 1 to Band 3 Step 4 ($84,078 – $111,610), depending on qualifications and experience. General employment conditions and remuneration are in accordance with the Montessori School Limited Enterprise Agreement (2024).
Key Responsibilities
Lead a fully implemented and authentic Montessori curriculum, consistent with Montessori philosophy and ACARA.
Create and maintain a prepared environment that supports intellectual curiosity, independence, concentration, responsibility, and collaboration.
Observe, record, and assess individual student progress and plan lessons that respond to each child’s developmental needs.
Build warm, respectful partnerships with students, families, and colleagues.
Work with the Primary team to support continuity of learning across the 6‑12 learning cycles.
Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, parent education, professional development, ongoing reflection, and community engagement.
Have strong interpersonal communication, reflective practice, and team collaboration skills.
Qualifications
Quality and reputable Montessori 6–12 Qualification (AMI or equivalent). \ Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
Prior teaching experience in a Montessori Lower or Upper Primary workplace.
Current Positive Notice Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (HLTAID012 & HLTAID009).
Hold and maintain the right to work in Australia.
