Kick-start Your Career in Mining: 2026 Apprenticeships at CSA Mine

CSA Mine (MAC Copper Limited) is seeking applications for our 2026 Apprenticeship Intake.

This is your prospect to gain nationally recognised qualifications, hands-on trade experience, and earn while you learn — all while working at one of Australia’s most iconic copper mines.

Apprenticeships commence January 2026 and run over a four-year period, combining on-the-job training with study through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Successful candidates will benefit from:

- Paid training and mentoring from highly skilled tradespeople.

- Experience in a world-class mining operation.

- Access to the Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment (up to $5,000 over the first two years, depending on eligibility).

Apprenticeship Opportunities

Multiple positions are available in the following trades:

- Heavy Diesel Fitter – AUR31120 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology

- Maintain and repair trucks, loaders, and heavy earthmoving machinery.

- Auto Electrician – AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology

- Diagnose and repair electrical systems in mobile and fixed equipment.

- Electrician – UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

- Install, maintain, and service electrical systems across the mine.

- Boilermaker (Fabrication) – MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade

- Weld, fabricate, and repair metal structures, machinery, and equipment.

- Mechanical Fitter / Machinist – MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade

- Assemble, service, and maintain mechanical plant and equipment.

About You

We’re looking for motivated individuals who have the following:

Essential

- Preferrably 18 years old by January 2026.

- Hold a manual driver’s licence and have reliable transport.

- Have Australian work rights.

- Can pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing).

Preferred

- Have a genuine interest in mining and your chosen trade.

- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.

- Are committed to safety and teamwork.

Application Process

- Your cover letter should explain: why you’re applying, relevant experience (formal or informal), and current qualifications/tickets.

- Within 48 hours, you’ll receive an email link to an online entrance exam, which must be completed within 48 hours.

- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview at CSA Mine (week commencing early November 2025).

- Final candidates will attend a pre-employment medical (from mid November 2025).

- Successful apprentices will commence work on mid January 2026.
