The Role
As a Tree Maintenance Employee, you will use your skills and experience in arboriculture and tree maintenance to achieve the overall maintenance objectives of the Tree Maintenance and City Presentation Department.
Your role will be to ensure the care and proper use of plant, tools and equipment in the performance of the work, ensuring safety and customer service are always front of mind. You will assist across any area of the maintenance operations where work priorities demand.
Working hours are 7:00AM - 4:00PM with 9-day fortnight. Workdays start and conclude at Latrobe City Council's depot in Morwell.
About You
We are seeking an experienced tree maintenance employee with drive to produce work of the highest quality. Your communication will be friendly and professional to communicate with the public, clients and other employees.
Qualifications
* Current Heavy Rigid Vehicle license as a minimum.
* Construction Induction (White Card).
* Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate or willing to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
* Elevated platform vehicle operator certificate of competency.
* Current certificate in Cert 2 in ESI Powerline Vegetation Control.
* Current certificate recognising the holder has been trained and assessed to competently trim and crosscut felled trees or a higher qualification.
* Appropriate qualification or equivalent recognised and relevant experience (minimum 3 years) to undertake amenity tree and vegetation maintenance as per AS 4373-2007.
Desirable
* Certificate III Arboriculture is highly desirable.
* Current First Aid.
* Experience working with a Municipal Council or similar authority.
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check and undertake a Pre-employment Medical Check.
