Are you ready to launch your surveying career on the water? Valentis are recruiting on behalf of a leading marine construction and infrastructure company based in Port Adelaide, and we're looking for a motivated Junior Hydrographic Surveyor to join a dynamic and growing team.
About the Role
In this hands-on position, you'll support our hydrographic team in delivering high-quality survey data for marine construction, dredging, and coastal infrastructure projects. You'll work both onshore and offshore, gaining exposure to a wide range of marine surveying techniques, equipment, and software.
This is an excellent development opportunity for someone early in their surveying career who is keen to move into the hydrographic field.
What We're Looking For
* Tertiary qualification in surveying, geomatics, geospatial science, engineering, or a related field
* No prior hydrographic survey experience required – full training provided
* Topographic surveying experience is highly regarded
* Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and equipment
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work safely in marine and construction environments
* Fit for fieldwork, including time on vessels and remote sites
* Australian work rights and a current driver's licence
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting with bathymetric, multibeam and single-beam surveys
* Supporting topographic and construction set-out activities
* Operating survey instruments, GNSS equipment, and data-logging tools
* Processing and validating survey data
* Maintaining survey equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures
* Contributing to project delivery across marine infrastructure works, dredging, and coastal engineering projects
