We're on the lookout for a UX Designer & Researcher to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract, supporting two major programmes of work.

You'll lead user research and design across our transformation program.
This hybrid role sits at the intersection of design, research, and strategy, ensuring our digital experiences are intuitive, engaging, secure, and compliant.Key responsibilities:Conduct research with customers to uncover needs, behaviours, and pain pointsDesign and run usability studies, card sorting, and A/B tests to validate product decisionsCreate wireframes, prototypes, and guide high-fidelity designs for web and mobile platformsDesign user flows for onboarding, account management, trading, and reportingTranslate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insightsCollaborate with digital designers and developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and responsive behaviourPresent findings and design concepts to stakeholders across product, risk, and marketing.Does this sound like you?
You're a curious problem-solver who thrives in complexity and brings clarity through design.
You're passionate about creating experiences that are not only functional but also meaningful.You'll bring:Strong experience in UX design and/or research, ideally within financial services or fintechA strong portfolio showcasing user-centred design for complex workflowsExperience with tools like Figma, Dovetail, UserZoom, or similarFamiliarity with financial terminology and regulatory constraintsExcellent communication skills, especially when translating technical or financial jargon into user-friendly languageA bit about us and what we doHeartland is an NZX/ASX-listed financial services group with big growth plans.
