Overview
Respiratory SA and Northern Respiratory provide a full service of lung function testing for investigations into respiratory conditions. Our specialised service is equipped to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a respiratory physician. We are committed to providing high-quality, professional service in a comfortable and patient-friendly environment. Tests are conducted by our trained and experienced technicians in a timely manner, in accordance with ATS/ERS recommendations.
Responsibilities
- As a respiratory technician, you will be part of a small team providing services in the lung function laboratory, with participation in the measurement of respiratory function using routine and complex methodologies and equipment.
- You will undertake a range of other relevant administrative tasks and duties in the unit, within a well-supported and progressive team.
- Operate computer-based lung function equipment and interact with and encourage patients to achieve maximal performance on tests.
About the role
The position will require working at both of our sites, Kent Town and Elizabeth. Part time hours, likely 3 days per week; potential to increase to 4 days according to demand. Some out-of-hours work and a flexible approach to working hours will be required. Hours range from 0730 - 1830 with early and late shifts.
Qualifications and Experience
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of computer literacy
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work autonomously
- Analytical and interpretative skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Current first aid and CPR certificates
- DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS
- Experience working in a Respiratory Lab setting or similar.
- Understanding and knowledge of the Respiratory system.
