Chance
As an Aquatic Education Team Leader, you'll lead a fantastic team of swim teachers, with responsibility for rostering, performance management, recruitment and training. You'll be process driven, ensuring that all patrons have a great experience, while supporting and encouraging your team through periods of change.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day management of the swim school and school swimming programs, ensuring smooth scheduling and high-quality delivery.
- Supervise, roster, and support Aquatic Education staff, providing training, feedback, and performance management to maintain program standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for parents and schools, addressing enquiries and promoting water safety and aquatic programs within the community.
- Monitor lesson quality, maintain teacher-to-student ratios, ensure adequate equipment, and uphold industry standards and Council policies.
- Manage facility scheduling, assist with invoicing and account compliance, and contribute to marketing initiatives to maximise participation.
Key Selection Criteria
- Previous experience as a swimming teacher or in swim school programming.
- Ability to plan, implement, and deliver innovative programs which complement existing program offerings.
- Ability to lead and develop staff to deliver the highest quality aquatic programs.
- Demonstrated customer service excellence.
- Ability to liaise with all staff, customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- Current AustSwim Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
- AUSTSWIM Extension course qualifications (for example Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Aquatics access and inclusion, etc.)
- Advanced Resuscitation.
- Previous experience in the development and/or delivery of aquatic programs.
- Pool Operations Certificate.
If successful, you will need to obtain a police check, have an employee Working with Children Check, and the required qualifications prior to commencing in the role. You must also be legally able to work in Australia.
