Barwon Health is excited to offer multiple temporary Registered Nurse positions within a new Department of Health pilot project to support midwifery staff in the care of neonates on the postnatal ward.
Responsibilities
* This supernumerary role is designed to complement and support midwifery care. The NPSN will work under the oversight of the midwifery team and will not be directly allocated patients.
* Support midwives to provide care for a defined group of unqualified newborns requiring additional clinical care in the postnatal ward.
* Support where possible the post-surgical care of women, including those who have undergone caesarean section.
* Participate in the pilot to deliver safe, timely and quality patient-centred care to women and their babies.
* Potential opportunity to undertake post graduate studies in midwifery, neonatal nursing, women's health or a related field.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current practicing certificate.
* Experience in neonatal or postnatal care is desirable but not explicitly stated; role supports midwifery and neonatal care within a postnatal setting.
* Postgraduate study opportunities may be available following the pilot.
* Vaccination and immunisation requirements as applicable, and any other organisational requirements.
