An opportunity has become available for a Civil Supervisor to join our Pavement Rehabilitation / Civil team based out of Dandenong, VIC. This role is responsible for the management and delivery of projects, and maintenance works of varying sizes. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be accountable to lead and coordinate personnel, while managing the plant, suppliers and resources to complete project and maintenance works on time, on budget and achieve Downer's Zero Harm.
Our ideal candidate will have previous earth works/civil experience with proven capability leading and motivating crews. Frequent travel to regional sites will be required for this role.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and supervise civil/stabilisation crews and subcontractors on site
* Ensure all works are delivered safely and in compliance with OH&S and environmental requirements
* Oversee daily prestarts, toolbox talks, site walk-throughs and SWMS reviews
* Monitor productivity, track progress and communicate updates to project teams
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing professional communication and service
* Ensure works meet quality standards and coach crews where needed
* Coordinate plant checks, maintenance reporting and site resource planning
* Promote and actively contribute to Downer's Zero Harm initiatives
* Provide accurate daily reporting and first-hour data
What you'll bring
* Strong background in civil construction, earthworks, pavements or stabilisation
* Experienced leading crews on greenfield or brownfield projects
* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and quality requirements
* Strong communicator with excellent leadership, problem‐solving and time‐management skills
* Knowledge of safety procedures, risk controls and compliance standards
* Professional, self‐motivated and highly organised
