Trainee Mining MPU Operator – Gunnedah

What You'll Be Doing:
As a Trainee MPU Operator, you'll play a key role in supporting the operation of Mobile Processing Units, ensuring the safe and efficient production and delivery of explosives. Your responsibilities will include:
* Receiving hands-on training to operate MPUs for explosive production and delivery
* Conducting pre-start checks to ensure the equipment is safe and operational
* Assisting with quality testing to meet industry standards
* Supporting loading operations to ensure the correct materials are delivered to blastholes
* Participating in daily safety meetings and maintaining a focus on workplace safety at all times
* Assisting with troubleshooting and basic maintenance of MPU equipment
* Keeping accurate records for compliance and reporting purposes
What We're Looking For:
While previous experience in an MPU operator role is not a requirement, we're looking for individuals with a strong foundation in any of the following areas:
1. Previous experience operating MPUs
2. Background in blast crew roles
3. Experience operating mining machinery such as excavators, dozers, graders, dump trucks, and water carts
4. Farming experience operating tractors, headers, sprayers, HR trucks, or livestock transport
5. Civil works experience with equipment like excavators, rollers, bobcats, and HR trucks
6. Experience driving HR/MC trucks, particularly if you hold or are willing to obtain a Dangerous Goods License and Security Clearance
7. Completed trade qualifications and seeking a career change
8. Strong commitment to safety and following zero-harm principles
9. Ability to work well in a team, with clear communication skills and a proactive approach to tasks
10. A desire to learn and upskill within the industry
Essential Requirements:
* Ability to obtain NSW Security Clearance
* Open class manual driver's license (HR license not essential, but advantageous)
* Order 43 Medical or the ability to obtain one
* Relevant industry qualifications (RII qualifications highly regarded)
