We're looking for a Network Engineer to join an established in‑house Infrastructure team in Sydney. This role offers a varied mix of project delivery and BAU support, with the opportunity to step up as the senior engineer across the team.
What you'll be doing:
* Designing, configuring, and supporting core network technologies including switching, routers, SD‑WAN, and firewalls .
* Maintain and update technical specifications, standards, and documentation for network hardware, software, security, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
* Manage network configuration groups within the Change Management system.
* Lead projects and contribute to BAU operations, ensuring reliable and secure network performance.
* Monitor and improve network security and performance.
* Act as the senior point of escalation within the team, mentoring colleagues and setting technical standards.
* Engage with senior stakeholders across the business, clearly articulating technical details in a way that supports decision‑making.
* Ensure backups and disaster recovery meet business requirements and are regularly tested.
* Participate in an on‑call roster and provide support for business‑critical incidents.
* Travel interstate on occasion, supporting regional projects and teams.
What we're looking for:
* CCNP or CCIE certifications.
* Hands‑on experience with a large‑scale national network and an advanced data‑centre network.
* Proven experience across a broad range of technologies (switching, routing, SD‑WAN, firewalls, Zscaler).
* Strong communication skills, confident presenting to the business and influencing outcomes.
* Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and support other engineers.
* Comfortable with travel and participating in an on‑call roster.
