Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has an immediate opening for an Auction Coordinator at our Yatala auction site.
The Opportunity:
The Auction Coordinator serves as a lead in communication, coordination, and support to all internal departments (e.g., office, yard, sales) related to auction processes and the Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) Program. In this role, you'll:
Manage the information collection and verification processes (e.g., equipment year, sequencing, equipment pricing) related to the DEI Program.
Work outdoors with the inspection team on equipment inspections of construction, mining, agricultural, and transport gear.
Assist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods.
Responsible for creating and building advertising material for upcoming sales (e.g., brochure and catalogue), in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Work with the Equipment Inspector to assess equipment and take photos for internal systems.
Manage auction sequencing and catalogue proofing activities.
Resolve equipment contract and DEI-related issues, including unresolved issues on sale day.
Promote a culture prioritizing health and safety for employees and customers.
Here's what you bring:
At least 2 years of experience in customer-facing roles.
Previous experience within the heavy equipment or transport industry, or a desire to learn.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficiency with technology such as computers, digital cameras, and handheld devices.
Strong aptitude for data and numbers; experience with spreadsheets.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strong customer service orientation and ease in dealing with customers.
Resourceful, proactive, with drive, initiative, and commitment to completing tasks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Ability to meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure, changing environment, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Highly motivated, goal-oriented, self-directed, energetic, with a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, willing to assist wherever needed.
Strong work ethic with a sense of humor and enjoyment of work.
