This is an exciting chance for a skilled physiotherapist to provide specialist clinical services to patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders across South West Sydney Local Health District.
The role will work closely with neurologists and allied health clinicians to improve access and care to patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders.
Part-time job sharing will be considered.
Job summary
This position is responsible for providing specialist physiotherapy services to clients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders across South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).
This includes service development and evaluation, advanced reasoning and clinical practice skills in the management of complex cases, and providing consultation and education across SWSLHD in specialised assessment and treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.
The position will also supervise, teach and train Level 1/2 and 3 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.
The role will build multidisciplinary relationships and work closely with the Neurology departments in SWSLHD to lead the service design and develop district-wide multidisciplinary pathways and improve access to specialised care for patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.
Key responsibilities
* Provide specialist physiotherapy services to patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders
* Develop and evaluate services, including clinical leadership and quality improvement activities
* Supervise, teach and train physiotherapists, AHAs and students
* Build multidisciplinary relationships and work with Neurology departments to develop district-wide pathways
Requirements
* Current registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist
* Advanced level of clinical knowledge and expertise in physiotherapy management of patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, consultation, supervision and education
* Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in planning and implementing quality improvement activities
