Project Engineer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure the effective coordination and control of engineering works for designated projects.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality. This involves activities such as technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on CaSE / Clients standards.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
* Recording non-conformances and initiating corrective actions promptly.
* Preparing Inspection Test Reports and checklists reflecting contract requirements.
* Conducting internal audits on project suppliers and subcontractors.
* Leading by example by meeting safety KPIs and briefing site supervisors on activities and risks.
* Ensuring all activities and issues are documented on site diary forms by the Site Supervisor.
Planning and Operations
* Managing operational aspects of work crews to ensure effective use of systems and processes across all project phases.
* Ensuring the scope of work meets or exceeds performance targets related to time, cost, and quality.
* Contributing to short, medium, and long-term planning of project works.
* Reviewing subcontractors' construction programs and identifying critical areas/risks.
* Forecasting labor hours required for scope of work.
* Answering questions from the site team and escalating to the Project Engineer as needed.
Resourcing
* Ensuring contractual requirements are satisfied at the work crew level.
* Coordinating resource allocation, promoting teamwork, and fostering a positive attitude towards organizational objectives.
* Tracking subcontractor resources daily and recording accurately.
* Preparing cost plans and resources for daily cost planning meetings.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
* 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Good negotiation skills and experience dealing with external stakeholders and regulators.
* Excellent communication skills.
* University Degree in Civil Engineering is desirable.
