About The Role
We're seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing Harnest team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you'll play a key role in preparing tenders, cost plans, purchase orders and pricing submissions across a diverse pipeline of social and affordable housing projects. Working closely with Sales, Design, Project Management and Construction teams, you'll help ensure projects are commercially viable, accurately priced and delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed tenders, cost plans, BOQs and pricing submissions across social and SDA housing projects.
* Review architectural drawings, engineering documentation, specifications and scopes of work to identify risks, opportunities and cost impacts.
* Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and commercially sound submissions.
* Contribute to value management initiatives and risk assessments during the tender process.
* Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation for trades and suppliers.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage variations and ensure client requirements are met.
* Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and industry partners.
* Support continuous improvement across estimating, procurement and pricing processes.
About You
* Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating within residential, townhouse or medium-density construction.
* Strong understanding of construction methodology, buildability, costs and structural complexity.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings with a high level of accuracy.
* Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Qualification in Building, Construction Management or similar (Cert IV or above), and/or relevant trade background.
* Experience using Databuild, Framework or similar estimating software, alongside Microsoft Office Suite.
