The Role
As an Enrolled Nurse, your responsibilities will include providing nursing care to elderly residents, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, collaborating with other health professionals, assessing residents' health conditions, and providing emotional support to residents and their families. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, document residents' care, and participate in care planning meetings. The role focuses on delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to elderly individuals.
Position Details
This is a full-time position with an annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, plus superannuation. The role is based in Tully, QLD, 4854.
Responsibilities
Providing direct nursing care to elderly residents, including administering medications, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
Demonstrating competence in assisting residents with activities of daily living, implementing Aged Care Quality Standards.
Assessing residents' health conditions and contributing to care plans.
Collaborating with healthcare professionals such as doctors, physiotherapists, and social workers.
Supervising and delegating tasks to Enrolled Nurses, Personal Care Assistants, and Assistants in Nursing.
Participating in health education sessions for residents and families on topics like medication management, nutrition, and chronic disease management.
Documenting residents' care accurately and maintaining electronic health records.
Responding to emergencies and providing first aid when necessary.
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning discussions.
Adhering to regulatory standards, legislation, policies, and workplace health and safety protocols.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
At least 2 years of relevant experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a clinical setting such as aged care facilities.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
First Aid Certificate and CPR certification.
Current Workers Screening Check (NDIS).
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
The ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Reliability and punctuality.
