Be a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders providing expert guidance on complex legal and regulatory matters. This autonomous role drives strategic initiatives, shapes legal risk frameworks, and influences key business decisions to safeguard Beyond Bank's reputation while enabling innovation and sustainable growth.
In this role you will
* Provide proactive high‐level legal guidance on complex regulatory matters, privacy and emerging laws.
* Partner with senior leaders to embed legal considerations into strategic initiatives and transformation projects.
* Advise on governance frameworks, directors' duties and board processes.
* Lead the review and development of internal policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
* Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements including technology procurement and high‐value transactions.
* Ensure all contracts reflect appropriate risk allocation, compliance obligations (including CPS 230 and CPS 234) and strategic objectives.
* Lead negotiations on critical agreements and provide pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations and legal exposure.
Qualifications
About you
A strategic influencer with exceptional communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills. You'll bring strong legal drafting and negotiation expertise, thrive under pressure and deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice aligned with business objectives and risk appetite. Professionalism, ethics and integrity are essential.
* Admitted as a solicitor/barrister in an Australian jurisdiction.
* Minimum 7‐10 years post‐admission experience.
* Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
