About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Emergency Department (ED) Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role of the ED pharmacist is an integral part of our growing team, providing best practice pharmacy services and exceptional patient-centred care by ensuring medication safety and optimising medication management within the Emergency Department at South West Healthcare (SWH). This position will be for a fixed term 12-month contract, aimed at establishing ED Pharmacy services at South West Healthcare and pioneering Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting (PPMC) within our local health network. If the program is successful, there may be opportunity for an ongoing position.
Position Overview
* 12-month fixed term position
* Full time (80 hours per fortnight with a monthly ADO).
* Classification: Pharmacist Grade 2
What you bring
The successful applicants must hold a recognised degree in Pharmacy from an approved tertiary institution and hold full current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist, with no restrictions to practice. They must have the ability to produce a service of excellence by use of Quality Improvement techniques and be familiar with National Standards Accreditation requirements. Good time management and program implementation skills are a must. With experience in Emergency Medicine (or a related field such as Intensive Care) highly desirable.
