With Bendigo Bank… and you.About the opportunityOur Group Internal Audit team is the independent internal audit function of the Bank, acting as our third line of defence through the provision of expert assurance to the Board Audit Committee (and other Board Sub-Committees), the Bank’s business units, senior leaders, and our subsidiaries. Group Internal Audit is comprised of two main portfolios, Financial Risk and Non-Financial Risk.As Internal Auditorand reporting to Senior Manager, Internal Aduit you’ll make an impact by:Contributing to the execution of audit programs in line with the Group’s Strategic Internal Audit Plan (with potential to participate in reviews across each portfolio).Effectively execute Risk audit engagements within specified timeframes.Delivering high-quality assurance reports and supporting Group Internal Audit leaders in discussions with Senior Management, Executives and Board Sub-CommitteesSupporting the team in ensuring adherence to Group Internal Audit’s Methodology and Internal Audit Standards.Participating in periodic Strategic Audit Plan development activities and contribute to the development of the team’s goals and strategy.Assisting the GM, Group Internal Audit / Heads of IA / Senior Managers / Managers / with adhoc requests as directed. This is a 12- month fixed term, full time position located in Melbourne, Bendigo or Adelaide. We offer flexible work hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 40% of your time per week in the office, increasing to 60% as of July 2025.What you’ll bring to the roleTo succeed in this role you will haveRelevant tertiary qualification e.g., Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce with post-graduate qualifications such as CA/CPA/Grad Cert IIA/CIA/CISA idealExperience in internal auditing gained through audit, risk management or consultancy is mandatory with experience in Banking and Financial Services preferredAbility to effectively evaluate risks ideally Regulatory Compliance, Operational RiskAbility to work in a dynamic team environment, including with external vendors, across multiple reviewsAbility to understand data structures and apply data analytic techniques within auditsAbility to learn and assess new concepts quickly, including through sound research skillsDemonstrated ability to influence and effectively communicate (both written and verbal).
