This role is part of our Steel & Timber Frame & Truss sector and works closely with our amazing internal and external stakeholders to ensure we're an efficient and valuable part of their build.
We are seeking an experienced Timber Truss Estimator to join our team at our Truganina manufacturing facility.
This is a critical role due to the current and ongoing volume of work coming through. There is strong demand for accurate, timely quoting, with multiple jobs already pending and more consistently entering the pipeline. Having dedicated estimating capacity is essential to ensure quotes are completed on time, particularly during peak periods, and to avoid delays that can impact job conversion, scheduling, and forward planning.
The role is well suited to someone with solid timber frame and truss estimating experience, or a detailer looking to move into a dedicated estimating position.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for the manufacture, supply, and installation of timber frames and trusses. The role focuses on improving turnaround times, reducing estimating bottlenecks, and ensuring consistency in pricing, margins, and scope.
By providing clearer visibility of upcoming work, this position supports better planning and allows production and management teams to focus on delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and timely estimates for timber frame and truss projects
* Produce technical drawings and plans where required
* Interpret architectural and structural drawings
* Review customer specifications and recommend suitable solutions
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding materials, pricing, and lead times
* Ensure estimates comply with customer documentation, NCC requirements, and relevant standards
* Work closely with internal teams to support efficient workflow
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience in timber frame and truss estimating or detailing
* Strong knowledge of timber frame and truss systems
* Experience using MiTek 20/20 or MiTek Sapphire (This is an essential requirement)
* Experience with Hyne Design and MiTek AutoBEAM
* Familiarity with Multinail or Pryda software
* Sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Experience with Posi floor systems is an advantage
