  About the team

The Community Infrastructure Planning, Maintenance and Asset Management unit is a newly formed team that are responsible for some of the City’s most treasured lifestyle assets and spaces. The team is passionate about providing high-quality infrastructure that are key drivers for the City’s liveability and success. The team is made up of experts from different fields of Maintenance, Capital Works and Asset management

About the role

The Community Infrastructure Planning Officer will play a crucial role in planning and overseeing capital works projects for the City’s community infrastructure, particularly concerning leased assets. This position reports to the Coordinator of Capital Works and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that community building assets are well-managed and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include providing technical advice for capital projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies, assisting with budget development, monitoring project performance, and contributing to asset management planning

We’re looking for people who have:

* Demonstrated experience in providing high-level design and technical advice for Community Infrastructure capital projects
* Experience with project execution and adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, agreements, standards, policies, and processes.
* Extensive experience in preparing budgets, including 4 and 10-year capital works programs and identifying and addressing project and budget requirements and constraints.
* Experience in contributing to the development, implementation, and management of annual updates to asset management plans, including renewal planning, technical levels of service, infrastructure risk management, operations and maintenance, and demand and budget requirements.
* Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of conflict management and assertiveness.
* demonstrated experience with the development of policies, procedures, standards, service levels and strategies relating to local government capital works.
* demonstrated competency to provide specialist advice in relation to capital assets management and planning.
* self-motivation and demonstrated initiative, creativity and the ability to foster enthusiasm among fellow staff.
* Reliability and constantly works towards achieving individual and team goals.
