Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable

* Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals
* Prepare weekly payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
* Manage and reconcile customer accounts
* Enter AR invoices into Xero from inventory software and reconcile

Bank & General Ledger Reconciliation

* Assist in month-end and year-end closing tasks
* Assist in month-end balance sheet reconciliations
* Post journals and maintain accurate general ledger records

Financial Reporting Support

* Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts
* Support the Financial Controller with reporting requirements for stakeholders and auditors
* Other ad tasks as required

Compliance & Record-Keeping

* Ensure compliance with ATO obligations, including GST and PAYG
* Assist with BAS preparation and lodgement
* Maintain proper filing of financial documents and digital records

Process Improvement & Support

* Identify areas for greater efficiency or automation within finance operations
* Support the implementation of improved accounting practices and systems
* Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller and wider team as required

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing)

* 2+ years' experience in an accounting or finance support role

* Proficient in Xero, Microsoft Office & Google Sheets
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines
* Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and ATO regulations preferred
* A proactive, reliable, and professional approach to work
* Permanent resident status required for this position
* Position requires availability for 4 days per week on a part-time basis
