Primary objective
Provide leadership and management, ensuring compliance with regulations by liaising with Harts Range School Principal, and facilitating
educator training, coaching and feedback. Prioritise the safety and well-being of children and staff when leading age-appropriate
programming and implementation. Effective communication with families through transparent and authentic partnerships. Financial and
administrative management.
Context statement
Atitjere Creche is a CCCFR early childhood service provided by Harts Range School for families and children 6 months to 5 years within
Atitjere/Harts Rage community of central region of the NT. Atitjere is located on Eastern Arrernte country. In 2026 the service looks to
expand it session times beyond weekday mornings to utilise the knowledge, skills and experience of its local workforce. Atitjere Creche is
set in a modern purpose-built facility with multiple learning space options. The service interacts with the wider school community to
develop strong early learning connection and belonging in children.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Overseeing the creche facility to ensure compliance with regulations and licensing requirements.
2. Ensuring daily compliance for cleanliness, safety and hygiene of the facility.
3. Leading, supervising, and mentoring staff, including supportive training, and team building collaboration.
4. Developing and implementing policies and procedures with fidelity to meet regulatory guidelines and quality of the service – inclusive
of all medical, health, safety and emergency areas related to legislative and regulatory bodies.
5. Managing financial, operational and strategic aspects with oversight from the Principal of Atitjere Creche, inclusive of accurate and
timely record-keeping, invoices to clients, budgeting, ordering, auditing stock and resources and reporting in databases such as PRODA.
6. Developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities to foster children's development.
7. Building positive relationships with parents, addressing concerns, and engaging with the community.
8. Regular meetings with the Principal to discuss information that will be reported on for current and future operational, financial and
strategic matters which are relevant to reporting requirements and ongoing improvement planning.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Approved Bachelor or Early Childhood Level Education, Care Qualification, and Experience, inclusive of at least three years' experience
in childcare settings.
2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the
Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children aged six months to 5 years, including children
with additional needs.
5. Evidence of experience in leading the education and care of children aged six months to five years, with demonstrated relationships
based interpersonal skills with families and colleagues from a range of socio-cultural groups.
6. Demonstrated authentic and compassionate interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults, with high-level
organisational skills in all areas of the applicants work.
7. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and routine correspondence.
