About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.
As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing care, safety, and supervision to young people in custodial or community-based environments. You will increase social and life skills to support young people's rehabilitation and development, assist in the transition into the community or reconnection with families or care providers, and assess and respond to the individual needs of young people to encourage positive behavioral change.
You will deliver programs and services that promote the development, education, and empowerment of young people, ensuring they have access to educational, social, sporting, and cultural activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide care, safety, and supervision to young people in custodial or community-based environments.
* Increase social and life skills to support young people's rehabilitation and development.
* Assist in the transition into the community or reconnection with families or care providers.
* Audit and respond to the individual needs of young people to encourage positive behavioral change.
* Deliver programs and services that promote the development, education, and empowerment of young people.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
* A current DHS Working with Children & Disability Certificate.
* A Certificate 4 in Child, Youth and Family Interventions, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
* Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
* Demonstrated ability and experience to work within a team environment.
* Ability to work across a 24/7 roster.
