About the role: The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is seeking solicitors to join our dynamic Trial Divisions and Specialist Trial Prosecution teams on a full time, ongoing or fixed term basis. As a solicitor you will play a key role in the heart of our operations, responsible for preparing and conducting a variety of matters for early resolution or trials in the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria. In this role you will: Prepare and instruct in committals, pleas, trial and other hearings in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts. About you: You will be a dedicated solicitor looking to build a long-term career in criminal prosecution, with: Knowledge of Criminal Law and Procedure, the Law of Evidence and other relevant legislation. The ability to undertake legal research as required to prepare prosecutions of moderate complexity. High level interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders. You will be admitted to the legal profession as an Australian Lawyer and hold a current Victorian Practising Certificate.
