Tripod Farmers Group Pty Ltd is one of Australia's largest salad and lettuce producers with farms in Western Melbourne, Gippsland and the Sunraysia region. The business is seeking a full time qualified Agricultural Technician for our salad produce farms in regional Victoria.
The salary offered is $76,515 per annum plus superannuation.
Duties and responsibilities
· Drives technical programs relating to produce health to ensure contractual standards and output are met.
· Works with our farm managers and agronomists to assess soil characteristics of Tripod sites to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies
· Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data samples of plant and soil affecting production to assist in decision making for site nutrition and pest/disease management;
· Provides advice, training and technical support and services on technology solutions for our on-site agronomy and quality assurance laboratory
· Installs, programs, tests, repairs and maintains advanced agriculture technology and equipment used in our on-site agronomy and quality assurance laboratory
· Advising farm managers on pathogen management, pest reduction, and nutrition management.
· Ensuring a high level of compliance with Health and Safety requirements at all time
The applicants will have the following skills and experience:
* Relevant Diploma in Agronomy or Horticulture Production
* At least 12 months of work experience in agriculture industry
* Have excellent communication and time management skills
