Associate - Power Engineering
Join Beca's Power team as an Associate Power Engineer. This role supports high‐value projects across Australasia, from traditional HV transmission to infrastructure and industrial projects.
Responsibilities
* Lead the technical delivery of primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs, and owner's engineer stages.
* Develop, mentor, and lead junior engineers.
* Lead the primary design of high‐voltage substations and other related infrastructure.
* Collaborate with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
* Lead teams of engineers to undertake large packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
* Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, etc.
* Maintain current design standards as set by statutory requirements.
* Carry out quality checks and procedures.
* Offer high‐quality technical advice to our clients and collaborate across business lines.
* Support strategic bids and tenders for future energy projects across ANZ.
Qualifications
* Proven senior engineering experience in power infrastructure (HV/EHV transmission, distribution, or traction).
* Experience in substation primary engineering for HV/EHV substations (up to 500 kV ideally).
* Strong electronic design and electrical engineering fundamentals.
* Proficiency with engineering software and design tools.
* Organised, adaptable, and able to think outside the box.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship skills.
* Effective communication with ability to explain complex issues.
* Results‐oriented with solid project delivery experience in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
