Job Role:
Quality Assurance Professional
The Supplier Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the performance and deliverables of contractors/suppliers align with global and local business requirements.
* Lead the effort on supplier vetting and performance review process through a balanced scorecard approach;
* Collect and evaluate supplier quality data and report/present supplier performance metrics monthly and as requested;
* Evaluate the effectiveness of formal risk management approaches implemented at all levels of the organization to ensure good oversight and effective control mechanisms are in place for all members;
* Lead and conduct external audits and participate in internal audit of contractors and supplier quality systems to ensure compliance with global and local business requirements and applicable regulatory requirements;
* Identify suppliers that pose a high level of risk and develop strategies to prevent production of defective products;
* Collaborate with procurement teams to identify new suppliers, assess their capabilities, and implement corrective actions to improve overall supplier performance;
* Support external suppliers in implementing preventive quality methods, process capability analysis, and supplier production process improvements to achieve high-quality products and permanent improvement of supplier performance;
* Assist in training both internal and external stakeholders on supplier management documentation requirements.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Engineering or related field;
* Demonstrated 5-10 years' experience in supplier evaluation/selection and supply base management;
* Demonstrated progressive leadership experience (3-5 years) in managing a geographically dispersed team;
* Proven experience within project/program management experience in manufacturing, defence, or government environments;
* Experience working in a large matrix organisation;
* Advance MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint);
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required;
* Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
