Role Summary
Qualified Social Worker to join the Inner Gippsland Student Support Services (SSS) team. Social Workers assess and develop strategies to address emotional and mental health needs of children, young people and their families within an educational context.
Responsibilities
- Assess and develop strategies to address emotional and mental health needs of children, young people and their families within an educational context.
- Provide comprehensive services to schools, supporting student health and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address a broad range of areas including learning issues, behavioural issues, disabilities, mental health, school and work transitions, self‐esteem, grief and loss, trauma, anger management, relationships, conflict, sexuality and drug/alcohol involvement.
- Work collaboratively with schools and an Area Health Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforce (HWIW) to support student emotional health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Graduate or post‐graduate qualification in Social Work acceptable for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Working with Children Check.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary team settings (preferred).
