* Project Engineer – Civil (Roads & Infrastructure)
* 3-month initial contract
* Up to $100 per hr, plus super

We're currently partnering with a government organisation to engage an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the Hunter region. This is a hands‐on role focused on the planning, design, estimation and delivery of road and infrastructure works, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and operational outcomes. The role You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of road, bridge and civil infrastructure projects from planning through to construction and maintenance.
A suitable candidate would have 5+ years experiance in road project development/construction/maintenance with local government, state government or a construction contractor. This role plans, designs, estimates, manages and oversees the construction and operation of roads, bridges, culverts, slopes, and other civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning, designing and estimating civil works including roads, bridges, culverts and slopes
* Managing project delivery to meet time, cost, quality and scope requirements
* Preparing project briefs, cost estimates and supporting procurement activities
* Overseeing contractors and service providers across project delivery
* Supporting construction and maintenance activities across the network
* Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality standards
Skills and Experience Required
* 5+ years' experience in civil project delivery (roads/infrastructure)
* Background in local government, state government or civil contractor environment
* Strong experience across project planning, design and construction delivery
* Ability to manage contractors and work across multiple stakeholders
* Solid understanding of road construction and maintenance practices
* Engineering qualification (Civil or related qualifications)
