Job Overview
In this newly designed program for Victim‐Survivors of Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Assault, you will work as part of our Wellbeing Team in Doomadgee to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The position is a maximum term role through to the end of December 2026.
You Will Make a Difference By
* Offer compassionate emotional support through active listening and presence, creating a safe and welcoming space for individuals during or following specialist intervention.
* Assist clients in gently processing complex or distressing information that may arise during times of crisis, helping them feel less overwhelmed and more supported.
* Translate complex processes into clear, manageable steps, making the recovery journey more accessible, achievable, and sustainable for each individual.
* Provide practical assistance that complements specialist DFV services, allowing frontline workers to remain focused on safety.
* Facilitate warm, personalised referrals to relevant services and community-based activities in the Mount Isa region, ensuring clients feel guided and connected rather than redirected.

This Role Requires
* Demonstrated experience working with, and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families.
* Demonstrated experience in case management.
* Strong computer literacy.
* Current valid driver's licence.
* Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or ability to obtain one).
