About the role
Join the Native Habitat team as a casual Bush Regenerator. In this hands-on role, you will help restore and maintain the natural landscape by removing invasive plants and promoting the growth of native species. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to important conservation efforts in the Gippsland region.
Employment Opportunity:
Offered hours: Up to 37.5 per week.
Native Habitat is seeking to employ team members who are passionate about conservation. We offer a diverse range of work sites and projects, from mountain tops to riverbeds, urban reserves to national parks and everything in between.
What we're looking for
* Experience in bush regeneration, landscaping or horticulture
* Strong practical skills and ability to use a variety of hand tools
* Knowledge of native flora and fauna, and the ability to identify invasive species
* Commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
* Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. Conservation and Land Management) are highly desirable
Desirable Qualifications (but not essential):
* Tertiary TAFE / University with a minimum of Certificate 3 in Conservation and Land Management or relevant field experience within the industry.
* ACUP.
* Traffic Control
* First Aid (Level 2)
Desirable Experience (but not essential):
* Sound identification of indigenous plant and introduced weed species.
* Experience in various mechanical weed control methods.
* Experience with revegetation.
* Experience using plant such as Brush cutters, Chainsaws and Chippers.
Must Haves: (Essential or willing to gain if offered employment)
* Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Current driver's license & own vehicle.
* Working with Children
